Why I Want to Quit My Job
I have a confession to make.
I want to quit my job.
Not just the regular "I'd love to quit my job" thinking that everyone does every once in awhile. I really, really want to quit my job. Why?
I guess it's because I feel like I've been doing the same thing (or same type of work) since I was 16 years old. I'm 28 now and I'm still nothing more than a glorified secretary.
Of course, it's really my own fault. My own stupidity. I went to college straight out of high school and promptly dropped out a year and half later. I wanted time to not go to school, to just work and travel. I got what I wanted, but at a hefty price. I now owe about $8000 in student loans ... and I have no degree to show for it. Not that I completely regret it, I took several great trips, including, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Cuba, Orlando and LA. That's more than most people get to do in a lifetime.
But back to quitting my job. I feel so burned out by doing the same old things every day. And half the time I'm not even doing anything. I just sit at my desk, surfing the internet (which lately isn't much because I'm paranoid about our IT dept.) and WAIT for someone to bring me something to do.
Since I've been making extra money, I felt justified in taking last Friday off to just work on GPT sites, my blogs and catch up with a few friends. But tomorrow I have to go back... :(
I don't think that I can realistically quit my job until I know that I can make the kind of money I make at work here at home. I gross almost $500/week... which works out to about $850 net every two weeks. So that's $1700. Is it possible to make $1700 while working at home? I don't know... but I sure plan on finding out.
To be continued.
